Don't miss yesterday's election site youtube link.

Dear Haddam, Haddam Neck and Higganum Residents:
A Better Haddam Town Committee is feeling good about our our Town's independent party.  We ran a decent and honest race in the November election and we believe we made great strides in improving the political environment in our town.  Now it is time to move on from the campaign and let you know what's in store.

We will continue to hold monthly meetings  that are open to everyone (The next meeting is Thursday, January 14, 2010). You are welcome to join A Better Haddam or simply to come by a meeting to share concerns, or send an email.  You do not have to change your voter affiliation to Unaffiliated or to ABH to attend meetings, run for an office, or to work with neighbors to improve our town.

As a party, we will continue to attend town meetings and video tape the Board of Selectmen's meeting as a public service and have it broadcast on Comcast Cable Chanel 18.

We will continue to encourage citizens to serve on town commissions, committees and boards when a vacancy occurs or when a new committee is formed.  ABH will announce vacancies and openings on this website and at our monthly meetings. The  Board of Selectmen look to the chairs of official  town parties (ABH, Democrats, and Republicans) to submit the names of residents who would like to be considered to serve.  ABH has presented two citizens since 2008 who were appointed to town committees.

We are serious about working together to make a better Haddam.  In the next two years, we plan to be involved in civic projects around town and invite you to join in. Some projects may include tending to our old cemeteries and parks, holding voter's registration booths, helping neighbors, etc.  We will post these events and opportunities on this website, so visit it often.

Finally, we have already begun working with the new Board of Selectmen (providing names of people who would like to serve) and look forward to collaborating with town officials in new and positive ways.

Sincerely,
Sean Moriarty
A Better Haddam Chairman
